Manages activities of recovery specialists responsible for recovery operations. Assures that all medical supplies necessary for organ recovery are readily available and properly maintained for use. Develops new techniques and opportunities to maximize the recovery, preservation and transportation of organs for transplant and research. Ensures transport of organs, physicians, kidney pumps and other equipment to and from donor and transplant hospitals. Will train to take on Clinical Administrative Call duties. This position requires periodic on-call status and is required to work extended periods including 24-hour and overnight shifts. Responsible for individual and team staff compliance with all Network policies and governmental regulatory agencies.
Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field with at least 2 years of organ and tissues recovery experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Must be a Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) or have American Association of Tissue Banking (AATB) certification.
