The ideal candidate will be an investigator whose research program addresses innovative and important questions related to inflammation, immunology, and metabolism (immunometabolism) and how these processes impact metabolic diseases including insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and/or organ transplant outcomes. There is particular interest in recruiting an individual who values collaborative approaches and can facilitate translation of scientific discoveries from the lab into leading-edge treatments and therapies for patients. Candidates holding a doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD, or MD) at all levels of academic rank will be considered for this faculty position. Senior candidates must have a strong publication record and history of NIH-equivalent extramural funding. Junior investigators should have a strong publication record and evidence of successful competition for external funding is preferred. The selected individual is expected to develop and/or maintain a nationally and internationally recognized extramurally funded research program. Based on the specific program of the successful candidate, we will align the individual'â‚¬â„¢s primary appointment in the appropriate basic science and/or clinical department.
