Chief, Division of Transplant Surgery and Executive Medical Director, MHealth-Fairview Transplant Service Line The University of Minnesota Medical School invites applications and nominations for Chief, Division of Transplant Surgery a position that will also serve as Executive Medical Director for the M Health Transplant Service Line. The University of Minnesota Medical School has been one of the premier research-intensive schools in the nation, ranked No. 30 in NIH funding in 2018, and currently in an era of major investment and growth. UMN leadership is demonstrating collaboration, innovation, and singular ambition in their approach to each of School’s missions. The recent expanded partnership between the UMN, University of Minnesota Physicians and Fairview Health System brings together the University of Minnesota Medical Center and Fairview’s other 11 hospitals, 56 primary care clinics and other services into a shared care delivery system united under a single brand, M Health Fairview. The next Division Chief must be a compelling leader with clinical, surgical, and research expertise whose passion for the educational, clinical, and research missions energize the faculty, staff, and learners, focusing their efforts on a strategic vision of excellence across all mission areas. The UMN Medical School is deeply committed to ensuring that the Transplant Surgery Division is recognized among the best in the nation and has set the table for its next Chief to successfully lead the Division. Applicants must have an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent, board certification in surgery or related discipline, academic accomplishments that merit an appointment at the rank of associate or full professor, and eligibility for a Minnesota medical license.
